Citrus County Sheriff's Office is on scene after an armed suspect barricaded themselves in a home.
There is a heavy law enforcement presence on Hwy. 41 north of Independence in Hernando as deputies respond to the incident.
Citrus County Sheriff's Office Crisis Negotiation Team and SWAT team are on scene working to resolve the situation.
Officials ask that you avoid the area and take an alternate route.
Authorities have not said whether anyone else is in the home
