police are asking for the public's help locating a murder suspect.
Police said the shooting happened Tuesday, Feb. 3 just after midnight at the Emerald Pointe
When police arrived, they found Darren Barnes, 31, dead inside an apartment and another man is recovering from serious injuries.Detectives are investigating what led up to the shooting.
Police are looking for Cornelius "Cornbread" Whitfield, 31, as the suspect in the murder. He is 5' 6" tall and weighs 145 pounds.He is considered armed and dangerous.Police said detectives have reason to believe he is still in the St. Pete area.
Anyone with information on Whitfield should contact Crime Stoppers of Pinellas County at 1-800-873-TIPS. You may be eligible for a reward of up to $3,000.
