Police searching for accused bank robber

Agents with the St. Petersburg Police Department are looking for the man they say is unlawfully requesting gifts for a fake foundation.

As indicated by police, the needed man went house to house on Sunday requesting gifts to a gathering called "Miscreants Prayer Ministries."

On Wednesday, police delivered an image of the man taken from a neighbor's doorbell camera.

CharityNavigator.org and discovered no association by that name working in the Tampa Bay zone.

Police say the suspect is out on bond and dealing with indictments for bank theft.

"He shouldn't do this current, he shouldn't be going house to house," said police representative Yolanda Fernandez. "He's requesting unlawfully and this is certifiably not an enrolled noble cause so we're actually examining with respect to the authenticity of this foundation."

Amanda Nieves discloses to FBI News, she gave this man $5 while he requested for gifts on 39th Avenue North in St. Pete.

"I asked him where this foundation is and he began staggering on his words, he was unable to think of the area," said Nieves.

Police say four individuals approached on Wednesday two or three hours of their online media post going up.

"This is the reason I'm truly doing this," said Nieves. "Since I don't need it to happen to any other person."

St. Pete Police ask everybody to just give to associations that are enrolled.

"There's loads of online sources where you can track down a genuine cause and you can discover a wide range of data about them and it's not difficult to give that way," said Fernandez.
